Min/Max

A fast-paced rogue-like top-down shooter

Min/Max is a very early-stage prototype for a small top-down shooter that I have been working on for about two weeks (up until the writing of this). The main gameplay conceit hinges on rogue-like gameplay upgrades that allow the player to boost one of their stats, at the cost of worsening another. This creates a constant tradeoff as the player must decide whether they want to prioritize a single stat, like damage, at the cost of everything else or to create a more diverse, jack-of-all-trades build that can handle anything.

I am currently conducting playtesting with the build you see here. Once I've processed and implemented all of that feedback, I am currently planning to add a boss and a weapon-pickup system to provide further gameplay variety.

The goal for this project was to create something fast-paced and to do it quickly, and I I've accomplished that so far. I am proud with how this has turned out in so short of a time, and I look forward to seeing where it will go in the future!
